About Dr. John H Kirk
John H. Kirk, MD, is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and brings considerable training to his three practice locations in Napa, St. Helena, and Hidden Valley Lake, California. He approaches all of his patients with the common goal of restoring optimal health.
John H. Kirk, MD, is part of the Adventist Health physician network, and he specializes in all aspects of women's care – from pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. He focuses on the whole woman, using respect and diligent communication to assess any problems and offer the best options available.
He completed medical school at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. Following medical school, he completed his residency and internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. In 2001, he was certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been an avid educator of both medical students and fellow colleagues in surgical applications throughout the country.
Dr. Kirk has renowned expertise in minimally invasive hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery. In addition, he has made routine and high-risk obstetrics two of the pillars of his practice. He approaches all of his patients with the common goal of restoring optimal health. He believes in a minimally invasive, less-is-more approach to care, including the reduced use of medications, smaller incisions, scar-less or single-incision surgery, and incision-less procedures for minimal damage to any tissue to treat a variety of problems.
Dr. Kirk focuses on how he can best work with his patients, whether it’s simply offering a second opinion or designing a complex surgical solution to a patient’s medical and surgical challenges. He strives to earn his patients' respect and their referrals by truly returning them to their best life.
